“We will provide all the rightful owners with their homes or workplaces in Hatay and other quake-hit cities”

Addressing the Key Handover Ceremony of Post-Quake Houses in Hatay, President Erdoğan said: "With the construction of new residential areas and on-site transformation in Hatay and other quake-hit cities, we will provide all the rightful owners with their homes or workplaces. Our citizens can rest assured and trust in us and their state on this issue. No one's rights will be violated, nor will anyone be victimized."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Drawing and Key Handover Ceremony of Post-Quake Houses in Hatay.

Pointing out that the suffering caused by the lives lost in the earthquake that hit Kahramanmaraş and its neighboring cities in the early hours of February 6 is still fresh in the hearts, President Erdoğan said: "Massive disasters and major sufferings also serve as the milestones that test the unity and solidarity of nations. Thank Allah, our nation performed well in this test, which was as historic as it was painful. Yet, we have left behind those trying times by turning the disaster of the century into the solidarity of the century."

Singling out Hatay as the city most affected by the February 6 earthquakes in terms of the number of the lives lost and the structures destroyed, President Erdoğan said: "Never will we forget the scene that met us when we came to Hatay within two days of the quake. The destruction experienced by Hatay, one of the most ancient settlements in the history of humanity, was truly great."

"WE RESTRUCTURE THE SQUARES AND MAIN STREETS OF OUR CITIES IN THE QUAKE ZONE IN LINE WITH THEIR HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL MISSIONS"

Noting that with the construction of new residential areas and on-site transformation in Hatay and other quake-hit cities, all the rightful owners will be provided with their homes or workplaces, President Erdoğan said: "Our citizens can rest assured and trust in us and their state on this issue. No one's rights will be violated, nor will anyone be victimized. There is no issue which we cannot overcome through solidarity, perseverance and mutual understanding. We not only build houses and workplaces in our cities in the quake zone. We also restructure the squares and main streets of our cities in the quake zone in line with their historical and cultural missions."

"Every disaster we experience, every attack we face and every trouble we endure highlights the importance of our national unity and our state's strength," said the President, and added: "Hatay's accession to the motherland was the most important achievement in the first century of our Republic. Now in the Century of Türkiye, we work to make sure that the homeland, with its every inch including Hatay, is a country where we live in safety, peace and prosperity."
