Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of October 2022

  1. The average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice declined by PhP 0.50 to PhP 3.20 in four trading centers during the second phase of October 2022 (15 to 17 October 2022), compared with their price levels in the first phase of October 2022 (01 to 05 October 2022). Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram inched up by PhP 0.25 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 0.28 in the National Capital Region (NCR), and by PhP 0.92 in Iloilo City during the period. (Table 1)
  2. Price decreases in a kilogram of lean meat beef, ranging from PhP 0.06 to PhP 10.00 were observed in four trading centers during the second phase of October 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram climbed by PhP 5.00 in Butuan City during the period. (Table 2)
  3. The average retail price of a kilogram of galunggong rose by PhP 10.00 to PhP 20.00 in four trading centers during the second phase of October 2022. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, slowed down by PhP 1.23 in NCR during the period. (Table 3)
  4. Many trading centers reported price hikes in the average retail prices of vegetables during the second phase of October 2022. (Table 4)
  5. Retail prices of a kilogram of red onion accelerated in five trading centers, ranging from PhP 10.00 to PhP 98.00, during the second phase of October 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 3.44 in NCR, by PhP 5.00 in Tuguegarao City, and by PhP 12.00 in Legazpi City. (Table 5)
  6. Price changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of calamansi varied in seven trading centers during the second phase of October 2022. (Table 6)
  7. The average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar went up by PhP 1.58 to PhP 10.50 in six trading centers during the second phase of October 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram was lower by PhP 8.13 in Legazpi City during the period. (Table 7)
