Lakewood City Hall will be closed Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
Lakewood's trash contractor, EDCO, always closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, will now also be closed on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day.
This means that trash pickup on those holiday weeks will be delayed one day.
For many residents, this means that trash pickup during these three holiday weeks each year will take place on the same day as their street sweeping. Please place your carts as usual, and try to remove them from the street after EDCO passes to allow for the best possible street sweep. Street sweepers will provide extra attention the following week if needed on particular blocks.
There will be NO street sweeping-related parking enforcement on Monday, May 27.
Parking enforcement will continue for non-street-sweeping related violations, such as parking in red zones or blocking sidewalks.
