2024 Tyler Film Festival entries close May 1

Submissions close on Wednesday, May 1 for the 2024 Tyler Film Festival (TFF), presented by Dobbs & Porter. Filmmakers can submit their entries online at Tyler Film Fest - FilmFreeway.

A celebration of storytelling through film, TFF seeks to grow local independent filmmaking and encourages filmmakers, especially in East Texas, to submit their work. This year's festival will feature new award categories to honor more independent filmmakers and actors work on the silver screen, including Best of the Festival, Best Student Film, Best Cinematography, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Child Actor, Film with the Biggest Heart, Funniest of the Fest and Audience Favorite.

TFF is a short film festival. Entries must be 15 minutes or shorter to qualify. Films can be of any genre but must have been completed after January 1, 2023, and should be suitable for a general audience (think 12A/PG-13). Films produced, financed or initiated by a major film studio or television network, or which have aired on US networks or cable television or distributed to theaters prior to the festival dates, or which have exhibited at previous Tyler Film Festivals, are ineligible for competition.

The Festival will be held at Liberty Hall, 103. E. Erwin St. from Thursday, Sept. 12 to Saturday, Sept. 14. Tickets will be available for purchase at www.TylerFilmFest.com or at LibertyTyler.com at a later date. Also, tickets will be available for purchase at the Liberty Hall box office on the nights of the event (if not sold out).

More information is available at Tyler Film Fest - FilmFreeway or by following Tyler Film Fest on Facebook.
