Today's talks between Deputy Foreign Minister Marek Prawda and his Ukrainian counterpart Yevhen Perebyinis focused on military cooperation, support for Ukraine in its EU accession process, and Poland's involvement in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Special attention was devoted to the process of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. "Progress in the implementation of reforms in Ukraine is unprecedented and the EU must respond favourably to maintain the credibility of the enlargement process," said Deputy Minister Prawda. Both parties welcomed the launch of a mechanism for bilateral dialogue on Ukraine's EU integration process in order for Poland to support Ukraine on its path to a full membership of the European Union.

Deputy Minister Prawda also stressed that Polish business entities are interested in supporting Ukraine's reconstruction: "Polish entrepreneurs are very well prepared to play a leading role during the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine." He also informed his interlocutor of plans to gradually restore Poland's consular presence in Ukraine by reopening the consulates in Kharkiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia.

The ministers' meeting was organised as part of the Polish-Ukrainian intergovernmental consultations that took place on 28 March 2024 in Warsaw. The previous edition of the consultations was held in June 2022 in Kyiv.
