MAYOR'S NEIGHBORHOOD ENGAGEMENT OFFICE TO HOLD NEIGHBORHOOD CARES DAY IN ALGIERS TOMORROW

NEW ORLEANS - The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) will host its second Neighborhood Cares Day of 2022, on Saturday, April 23. This event will take place in Algiers at the Donsereaux/Harrison Playground (1138 Odeon St.) from 9 a.m.to 12 p.m.

During the event, residents will have the opportunity to partake in a community resource fair to provide useful information from City departments, job opportunities, COVID-19 tests/vaccines, blood pressure screenings, free food, sounds by DJ PJ and more.

Volunteers will work to improve several items in the interior and exterior areas of Donsereaux/Harrison Playground. This includes, but is not limited the installation of playground benches, painting of the clubhouse and fence improvements. Volunteers will also work to beautify the neighborhood by removing liter/debris in playground and surrounding streets.

Volunteer check-in begins at 8 a.m. and the event begins at 9 a.m. Food and beverages will be provided for all volunteers.
