Irvine Police Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision

IRVINE, Calif. (August 16, 2022) - Irvine Police are investigating a traffic collision that resulted in the death of a 23-month-old girl.

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority personnel were called to a traffic collision within an apartment community near the 300 block of Estancia.

Preliminarily, it appears a collision occurred in the parking lot between an Amazon van and the child. The van is operated by a third party contractor. First responders quickly arrived at the scene to aid the child, but she was deceased.

While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor. Anyone with information related to the collision should contact Detective Christopher Ostrowski at [email protected](link sends e-mail)or 949-724-7047.
