Town of Anita’s ready for its closeup, thanks to students’ winning video

ANITA - A team from CAM High School won a statewide competition by producing a video promoting the town of Anita.

The video, called Why Our Town Anita, highlights reasons that make the west-central Iowa town a good place to live and raise a family.

The marketing project challenge came from the Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning during a live webinar sponsored by the Iowa Intermediary Network in which students got to hear from industry professionals from the Iowa Business Council, Iowa PBS, and the Iowa Association of Chambers of Commerce about various careers.

The project challenge showcases the value of collaborating by bringing together experts to support student learning and engagement to improve student skills.

Judges noted that the video did a great job showcasing Anita.

'Loved the aerial drone footage,' wrote on judge. 'Having never been to Anita, I can tell it is a pretty town with lots of outdoor amenities.'

Another judge wrote, 'there was a level of optimism and energy to it that implied things are on the cusp of 'happening' in this town.'
