Readout of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr.’s Office Call with Chief of Defence of the Republic of Lithuania Gen. Valdemaras Rupšys

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with Chief of Defence of the Republic of Lithuania Gen. Valdemaras Rupšys today at the Pentagon.

The leaders discussed the security environment in Europe as well as opportunities for strengthening NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities. Gen. Brown expressed appreciation for Lithuania's steadfast commitment to supporting Ukraine and countering Russian aggression.

Additionally, Gen. Brown and Gen. Rupšys discussed potential opportunities for bilateral military cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Lithuania is an important NATO ally and critical partner in maintaining peace and security around the world.
