Mechanical issues delay opening of splash pads

Due to mechanical issues, the City of Abilene's six splash pads will not open as scheduled on April 27, according to the third-party company tasked with managing the City's aquatics programs.

As repairs are completed, updated information and opening dates for each location will be shared. The May 3 ribbon cutting for the Coach James Valentine splash pad, the City's newest location, will be rescheduled.

Adventure Cove's planned opening date, May 18, 2024, is not affected. Adventure Cove's regular season will begin May 25.
