Southampton residents to vote in Coxford Ward poll this week

Residents have received polling cards and are encouraged to vote in person at their nearest polling station, with the following sites open between 7am and 10pm:

  • Zoe Braithwaite Centre, Fraser Close
  • Lordswood Community Centre (Small Hall), Sandpiper Road
  • St Vincent De Paul RC Church (Hall Centre Section), Coxford Road
  • Lordshill Community Centre (Small Hall), Cromarty Road
  • Kinloss Court (Communal Lounge), Northolt Gardens
  • Scout HQ (Main Hall), Aldermoor Road
  • Coxford Community Centre (Main Hall), Olive Road

A government requirement for voters to show photo ID at a polling station will apply. Accepted photo ID includes:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence (including provisional licence)
  • Blue Badge
  • Certain concessionary travel cards
  • Identity card with Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) mark
  • Biometric Immigration document
  • Defence identity card
  • Certain national identity cards

Expired photo ID can be used if the photo is still a good likeness.

A full list of candidates can be found on our website. Residents can vote for one, two or three candidates - so that's up to three crosses on the ballot paper.

The result will be published on our website and Twitter feed.

The Coxford poll was abandoned at the Southampton City Council elections on 4 May 2023 following the death of Mr Graham Galton.

After Thursday's election, the three successful candidates will join 48 councillors already elected, completing the council's make-up of 51 elected members representing 17 wards.
