Polish Constitution Day Parade, Cinco De Mayo Parade, St. Jude Police Memorial March this Weekend

CHICAGO - The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) is reminding the public of activities and events that may impact traffic this weekend. OEMC also encourages residents and visitors to be alert in crowds and public gatherings and report suspicious activity or criminal behavior to 9-1-1. OEMC will monitor events in collaboration with public safety partners.

Polish Constitution Day Parade - Saturday, May 4- 11:30 a.m.

The annual Polish Constitution Day Parade is Saturday, May 4. Assembly begins at 9 a.m. on Columbus from Balbo to Roosevelt and Balbo from DuSable Lake Shore Drive to Michigan. Step-off is at 11:30 a.m. from Balbo to Monroe and proceeds north on Columbus and will disband at Monroe and Columbus. Parking restrictions are in place from 6 a.m.to 4 p.m. on Saturday along the route/assembly and disband areas. Cinco De Mayo Parade - Sunday, May 5 - Noon

Cinco De Mayo Parade will take place on Sunday, May 5 at noon. Assembly begins at 9 a.m. on Cermak from Damen to Wood. The line of march proceeds on Cermak from Damen to Marshall Blvd and disbands.

St Jude Police Memorial March - Sunday, May 5 - 8 a.m.

The St. Jude Police Memorial March takes place on Sunday, May 5 with a new route this year. Assembly begins at 6:30 a.m. from Michigan Avenue & Superior. The march continues northbound on Michigan Ave to Chicago Ave and then westbound to Dearborn and disbands. At the conclusion of the march, there will be a brief interfaith service followed by mass at Holy Name Cathedral. TCA's will be present to facilitate traffic.

Bridge Lifts

Expect delays at bridges on Saturday, May 4, from Ashland to DuSable Lake Shore Drive beginning at 8 a.m. due to the scheduled boat runs for boating season.

If you notice something suspicious, notify onsite security or call 9-1-1.
