Youth basketball clinics and league begin this fall
Beginning in October, free youth basketball clinics are offered at three community centers for youth 6 to 17. Following the clinics, the city's popular youth basketball league will run from Nov. 4 through Feb. 14 for youth 6 to 17. The league's draft will be at the Cherry Cultural & Educational Center, 925 George W. Engram Blvd. The fee for the league is $40. To register for the youth basketball league, visit this website. Athletes will focus on the fundamentals of basketball, including defense, shooting, passing and proper form, and will be divided by skill level and trained as competitive athletes. All players will be encouraged to focus on teamwork and self-confidence while having fun in a safe and friendly environment. There will be a training league for youth 4 and 5. Registration ends Tuesday, Nov. 1.
