At the opening of the water pipeline in Prevalje, the Prime Minister Dr Robert Golob stressed the importance of solidarity: "Not only among you, not only among Slovenians, but in this situation the whole of Europe has come to our aid."

The floods deprived more than 10,000 people in the area of an inalienable, fundamental human right: the right to drinking water. The town's mayor Dr Matija Tasič had promised the residents that they would have drinking water within three months, and Prime Minister Dr Robert Golob stressed that the residents' access to drinking water had been restored within less than two months. "The Mayor and his team, all the volunteers, all the workers from Slovenia, from companies, from the Slovenian and foreign armies, have proved that when we really believe in something and really want it, we can do it." As promised, the state will fully cover the cost of the new water pipeline, and the first part has already been paid. The municipality of Prevalje has already received a transfer of EUR 5.5 million to reimburse emergency reconstruction costs.

The Prime Minister Dr Robert Golob then attended a celebratory meeting of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Črna na Koroškem, where he spoke about the great progress made in the post-flood reconstruction, thanks to the excellent and very persistent leadership of the Mayor, as well as to all the people of Črna na Koroškem. "Only your perseverance and stubbornness, along with our solidarity, can get Črna back on its feet. And I believe that it will succeed," the Prime Minister stressed, adding that we need to rebuild Slovenia in a way that will also make it more resilient.

Today, the municipality of Črna na Koroškem received the first payment of EUR 4.9 million to reimburse emergency reconstruction costs. "Our task is to ensure that the money for the intervention funds is fully committed," said the Prime Minister and assured that the next advance payment will be made once the first one is drawn down.

Today, the municipalities of Črna na Koroškem, Dravograd, Mislinja, Prevalje, Slovenj Gradec and Vuzenica received advances totalling more than EUR 53 million for the estimated damage to municipal property and infrastructure. These are advances to municipalities for estimated damage to municipal property or infrastructure even before the start of reconstruction works. This is made possible by new amendments to the Natural Disaster Recovery Act adopted by the Government this summer.
In Koroška, infrastructure has been reconstructed as a priority, and now it's time to rebuild houses and homes: "We will not forget neither about Črna, Koroška or all the other municipalities, and above all, nor about the people."

A Reconstruction and Development Act is being drafted, but each family that has suffered damage has a specific situation that cannot be solved through the municipalities. Solutions must be found for each family individually. The Prime Minister therefore called on residents who have suffered damage to contact the 114 call centre. Representatives of the call centre will call those most affected and visit them.

Dr Golob believes that solidarity will make us stronger and more resilient in the face of these floods: "As a society, as a state and as a community."
