CCU hosts trio Empire Wild for “A Winter Wonderland” concert in Wheelwright Auditorium

Coastal Carolina University's Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts will host the musical trio Empire Wild in "A Winter Wonderland" concert on Friday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. Tickets are $25, with CCU discounts available.

Empire Wild is a genre-bending, crossover trio featuring Jiyong Kim on percussion, vocals, and piano, and Ken Kubota and Mitch Lyon on cello. All classically trained, the three musicians met at the Julliard School and formed Empire Wild as a vehicle for musical exploration. The trio fuses the sounds of pop, folk, jazz, Broadway, classical, and more into their songwriting and composition.

The Winter Wonderland concert will include music by a range of artists, from Tchaikovsky to Mariah Carey, in an evening of holiday cheer.
