Letters of interest accompanied by a recent curriculum vitae should be sent to [email protected] by midnight (Geneva time), Friday 19 April 2024.

The Independent Oversight Advisory Committee (IOAC) is a subsidiary body of the ILO's Governing Body. It serves in an expert advisory capacity and provides independent, external, senior level, expert advice to the Governing Body and to the Director-General in fulfilling their governance responsibilities. All members should possess knowledge, skills and senior-level experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • finance and audit;
  • organization governance and accountability structure, including investigation, ethics and risk management;
  • senior-level management;
  • the organization, structure and functioning of the United Nations system and/or other intergovernmental organizations; and
  • a general understanding of the ILO's mandate, values and objectives.
Please note that the selected members will not receive a fee for services rendered. They will, however, receive a daily subsistence allowance and be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred to attend Committee meetings. The Committee meets, in principle, up to three times per year, normally in Geneva, Switzerland. It may also hold virtual meetings as necessary.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is devoted to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights, pursuing its founding mission that social justice is essential to universal and lasting peace. The only tripartite U.N. agency, the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers representatives of Member States, to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men.
