Berlin/Rome, 12 March 2024 | Successful automation of operating processes - For over a year, Azienda Trasporti Bergamo (ATB) has been planning and dispatching all vehicles and driving personnel using the end-to-end, integrated software IVU.suite from Berlin-based IT Specialist IVU Traffic Technologies.

Azienda Trasporti Bergamo (ATB) operates bus, tram, and funicular services in the Lombard city of Bergamo and surrounding municipalities, transporting tens of thousands of passengers every day. To better manage its vehicles and employees and at the same time standardise passenger information, the transport operator relies on the IVU.suite. An essential part is the IVU.pad mobile application, supporting operators with numerous practical functionalities and ensuring efficient real-time communication between driving personnel on the ground and dispatchers.

Since June 2022, ATB creates timetables, and plans and optimises vehicle workings and duties with IVU.suite. ATB's planners therefore benefit from consistent planning information. The system takes any changes into account immediately and suggests amendments where required, while IVU's special optimisation algorithms can be used to create optimal duty schedules.

"With the implementation of the IVU.suite for duty scheduling, we can now manage our services even more dynamically", explains Federico Zamboni, Operation Manager at ATB. "The tool provides accurate and complete data, which we can process in a structured way to enable precise reporting of all activities."

Better monitoring is ensured by a customised dashboard developed jointly by ATB and IVU. This makes it easy to monitor planning and react flexibly if necessary.
