At about 1:41 AM, on Monday, February 26, 2024, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Antoine Washington, 44, of Boston, on breaking and entering charges.
Officers responded to the area of 175 Federal Street for a report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers immediately observed a shattered glass window. Officers set up a perimeter around the building, and requested a K-9 unit to respond to the scene for assistance.
Officers were advised that the suspect had barricaded himself inside a storage closet. Officers requested Boston Fire to perform a forced entry into the storage closet. Officers located the suspect inside, and placed him into handcuffs.
After further investigation, it was later determined that the suspect also had a warrant for his arrest out of the city of Philadelphia.
Washington was placed under arrest and charged with: Breaking and entering nighttime for a felony, breaking into a depository, destruction of property over $1,200, and fugitive from justice. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
