The Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program provides support to cities and towns to begin the process of planning for climate change.
Through the MVP Program, the Town of Nantucket has completed a community-based vulnerability assessment in early January 2019 and developed a draft MVP planning report with recommendations for increasing community resilience against climate change hazards.
The listening session is an opportunity for members of the public to learn about the MVP planning process, ask questions and provide additional input on concerns related to climate change, community resiliency and natural hazards.
The Town's MVP-certified provider, Milone and MacBroom, will present the results of this vulnerability assessment and outline the planning report's top recommendations. Communities that complete the MVP program requirements and report become certified as an 'MVP community' and are eligible for State grant funding and other opportunities.
