Malaysian Armed Forces Chief of Defence Forces, General (GEN) Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning. During the call, Dr Ng and GEN Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohammad reaffirmed the warm and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Malaysia, and agreed that the Singapore Armed Forces and the Malaysian Armed Forces should continue to further bilateral cooperation and deepen people-to-people ties.
GEN Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohammad, who is in Singapore for an introductory visit from 13 to 15 May 2024, also called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF. He visited Sembawang Air Base, ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) Cybersecurity and Information Centre of Excellence and Information Fusion Centre at Changi Naval Base yesterday.
GEN Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohammad's visit underscores the warm and long-standing bilateral defence relations between Singapore and Malaysia. Both countries' armed forces interact regularly through a wide range of activities, including bilateral exercises, visits and professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, as well as through multilateral platforms like the Five Power Defence Arrangements and the ADMM/ADMM-Plus. These interactions have strengthened professional ties and mutual understanding between personnel from both armed forces.
