DALLAS - At 5 p.m., today, Dallas ISD will hold the first in a series of webinar meetings to share tools and plans the district will use to address historic racial inequities that have negatively affected Black students and English learners. The first session, titled 'Using Cultural Intelligence to Create an Anti-Racist School Community,' will be headed by Dr. Sandra Upton, a national expert on diversity, equity and inclusion. The webinar will be conducted via Zoom and social media.

Central Market announces significant monetary donation to Dallas ISD
During the announcement of its reopening plans, Central Market announced a $1 million donation to the Dallas Education Foundation that will go to the schools directly impacted by the tornado.
Dallas ISD Profile - Marlon Brooks, Principal at L.G. Pinkston High School
Marlon Brooks is one of the district's longest-serving principals. He began his career as an educator with Dallas ISD in 1992 and has served at several campuses as a teacher, an assistant principal and a principal. Now, in his second year as principal of Pinkston, he is leading the campus through a major transition as construction gets under way on a state-of-the-art campus for the West Dallas School.

Dallas ISD will provide transportation for students taking ACT
On Tuesday, October 20th, Dallas ISD will provide transportation for students taking the ACT. Students will be picked up in the morning at their normal time, and most high schools will have bus pickup at the regular dismissal time.
