VOTED NO, TOOK THE DOUGH: Tony Gonzales Hypocritically Touts Infrastructure Funding He Voted Against

When Rep. Tony Gonzales had the chance to support bipartisan infrastructure investments in Texas, he fell in line with Washington party bosses and opposed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal.

Now Gonzales is joining the rest of his Republican cronies to hypocritically take credit for $75 million in investments in San Antonio that he voted against.

Recently, the San Antonio River Authority announced $75 million in funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to support the design and construction of the Westside Creeks area. The project will have long lasting environmental and community benefits for the surrounding areas. Far too late, Gonzales realized the transformational nature of this investment and changed his tune.

"Despite his best efforts to rewrite his record and lie to Texans, Tony Gonzales repeatedly stood in the way of infrastructure investments, job creation, and small business growth when it mattered most," said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. "That is Washington gamesmanship at its worst."
