The Minister of Transport, the Honourable Omar Alghabra, today announced appointments and reappointments in the transportation sector. The appointees come from diverse backgrounds, have experience in several fields, and are active members in their communities. They bring a wide array of knowledge and expertise to their positions.

The Minister of Transport, the Honourable Omar Alghabra, today announced appointments and reappointments in the transportation sector. The appointees come from diverse backgrounds, have experience in several fields, and are active members in their communities. They bring a wide array of knowledge and expertise to their positions.

Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund and the Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods

  • Ms. Chiamaka Obiageli Mogo (Calgary, Alberta) appointed as the Deputy Administrator of the Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund, for a five-year term.
  • Mr. Mark A. M. Gauthier (Gatineau, Quebec) appointed as the Interim Administrator of the Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund and the Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods, for a one-year term.
  • Mr. Steve D. Anderson (Shelburne, Ontario) appointed as the Deputy Administrator of the Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods, for a five-year term.

Atlantic Pilotage Authority

  • Captain John Patrick McCann (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) reappointed as the Vice-Chairperson of the Atlantic Pilotage Authority, for a four-year term.
  • Captain Vivek Saxena (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) reappointed as a member of the Atlantic Pilotage Authority, for a four-year term.

Pacific Pilotage Authority

  • Ms. Katherine Edith Bright (North Vancouver, British Columbia) reappointed as Vice-Chairperson, for a four-year term.
  • Ms. Vasiliki (Billie) Raptis (North Vancouver, British Columbia) reappointed as a member, for a three-year term.
  • Capt. Allan John Ranger (Nanaimo, British Columbia) reappointed as a member, for a three-year term.
  • Ms. Guangbin (Qi) Yan (Richmond, British Columbia) appointed as a member, for a four-year term.
  • Ms. Joely Emily Viveiros (Vancouver, British Columbia) appointed as member, for a three-year term.

Calgary Airport Authority

  • Ms. Andrea Goertz (Kelowna, British Columbia) reappointed as member for a four-year term.
  • Mr. Philip Scheibel (Calgary, Alberta) reappointed as a member for a four-year term.

These Canadians were appointed under the Government of Canada's transparent, and merit-based selection process, striving for gender parity, and aiming to reflect Canada's diversity.
