COVID-19 Hospitalizations in Maryland Drop Below 200

Statewide Positivity Rate Is All-Time Low 0.9%
State Nears 6.5 Million Vaccinations

ANNAPOLIS, MD-Governor Larry Hogan today announced that COVID-19 hospitalizations in the State of Maryland have dropped below 200 for the first time since March 2020. The state is also reporting record lows in its daily and 7-day positivity rates.

Hospitalizations: 192, Lowest Level Since March 28, 2020. The state is reporting 192 COVID-19 hospitalizations-down 20 today, and down 85% since mid-April.

Daily Positivity Rate: 0.65%, 7-Day Positivity Rate: 0.9%. The state is reporting a record-low daily positivity rate of 0.65%, and a record-low 7-day positivity rate of 0.9%-down 85% since mid-April. Overall, 21 of 24 jurisdictions are reporting a positivity rate under 2%. Official data by jurisdiction is available at coronavirus.maryland.gov.

Case Rate: 1.68 Per 100K. The state is reporting 84 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today. The case rate declined to 1.68 per 100K-down 93% since mid-April.

Vaccinations: 6,469,627. The state is reporting 29,284 additional vaccinations today, for a total of 6,469,627 vaccinations.
