Thailand's Statement on the Situation in the Middle East
Thailand expresses its grave concern over the escalation of armed conflict in the Middle East, particularly in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and other areas in the region, which have severely costed the lives and properties of innocent civilians on all sides.
Thailand reiterates its call on all conflicting parties to immediately cease any retaliatory actions to prevent the situation from prolonging and aggravating, and to restore regional peace and stability in the Middle East, a region of opportunity and hope.
Thailand also requests all sides to exert their maximum efforts to conclude the ceasefire deal and bring about the immediate and unconditional release of all remaining hostages, including Thai nationals.
As a member of the United Nations and a longtime contributor to the UN peacekeeping missions, Thailand repeats our call on all sides to implement the relevant United Nations Security Council's resolutions in full. Thailand also reiterates our call for the continued protection of the United Nations' personnel, peacekeepers and humanitarian aid workers.
At this critical juncture, the global community is confronted with multi-faceted challenges and crises, requiring solidarity and cohesive international responses. Thailand urges all sides to resolve the on-going armed conflict through peaceful and constructive dialogue on the basis of international law and the two-State solution, with Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security.
