McCaul, Meeks, Kim, Bera Introduce Resolution Honoring the United States-Japan Alliance and Welcoming Prime Minister Kishida Fumio

Washington, DC - Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY), Subcommittee on the Indo-Pacific Chairwoman Young Kim (R-CA), and Ranking Member Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA) introduced a House Resolution that welcomes Prime Minister Kishida Fumio to the United States for a state visit and joint address to Congress, and underscores the importance of the U.S.-Japan alliance for ensuring peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

"We warmly welcome Prime Minister Kishida to the United States and the deepening of ties with our friend and ally Japan. Our alliance remains the cornerstone of a free, open, prosperous, and secure Indo-Pacific. This resolution is a testament to our mutual resolve to strengthen our diplomatic, economic, security, and people-to-people ties as we face global challenges and uphold a rules-based international order.
