Queens, N.J. - Jacob Riis Park is ready for summer. All bays are fully open to visitors this weekend. The placement of 360,000 cubic yards of sand has been completed.

Starting Memorial Day Weekend lifeguards will be on duty daily from 10 am to 6 pm, and Bay 9 will be open for food and drinks.

Beach parking fees remain $20 per vehicle or $100 per season. Fees are collected between 8 am and 6 pm.

Construction continues at the Riis Bathhouse. This extensive overhaul has started with a full restoration of the building's facade. The restoration will add a range of amenities for the public, including a rooftop restaurant, ground floor eateries, a casual beachfront bar, and retailers stocking beach supplies like sunblock and towels.

A project to restore the Riis boardwalk is expected to start this fall.
