Police - Media Releases 5/6/2021 Investigation into Shots Fired on Inga Street Results in Large Drug and Gun Seizure

5/6/2021

Investigation by East Precinct officers into shots fired Wednesday night in the 2400 block of Inga Street resulted in the seizure of 3.5 pounds of cocaine, 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine, four grams of heroin, 1.5 pounds of fentanyl pills, oxycodone pills, 1.2 pounds of THC edibles, three pistols, a shotgun, a rifle, and $7,912 cash.

Officers responded at 9:50 p.m. and learned that a woman, possibly connected to the shots fired, had been seen quickly exiting a grey Nissan sedan before running inside a residence at 2426A Inga Street. Officers saw the unoccupied car, still running, parked in the driveway. There were several bullet holes on both the driver and passenger side. A handgun was in plain view on the passenger side floorboard and a baggie containing white pills was near the center console. Officers knocked on the door and the resident, Breana Darnell, 27, told them that shots had just been fired at her car, the Nissan.

As officers conducted a welfare check of the residence, they observed various drugs, firearms, and cash in small denominations consistent with drug sales. They notified MNPD's Specialized Investigations Division to involve their specially trained narcotics detectives and members of the TITANS (The Investigate Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) Unit.

Darnell, who claimed possession of all the firearms in the residence, is charged with felony drug possession and felony gun possession. She is being held in lieu of $125,000 bond.

The investigation continues.
