The rule estimates that because of these new air emissions standards, electric vehicles will make up over sixty percent of the new vehicles by 2032. In comments sent to EPA in July of 2023 when the rule was proposed, Nebraska Farm Bureau said, "Our concerns center on the proposal's clear attempt to push additional electric vehicles onto our nation's roads, while at the same time increasing regulations on liquid fuel vehicles. In our opinion, this proscriptive policy move is not in the interest of U.S. consumers, farmers, ranchers, or the economies of our state and nation as a whole."
