In its most recent annual report on the nation's fiscal health, the Government Accountability Office warned: "The federal government faces an unsustainable long-term fiscal future." Join The Concord Coalition and the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget for a fiscal policy discussion, including challenges facing the next administration, such as the rising national debt, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, taxes, general government spending, and more.

The event will feature Concord Coalition Executive Director Bob Bixby and Mike Murphy, Senior Vice president and Chief of Staff at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

Following the presentation, attendees will have the chance to participate in a Q&A moderated by New Hampshire State Senator Dan Innis, professor of marketing and hospitality at the Paul College, and Carolyn Arcand, Senior Lecturer at the Carsey School. Refreshments will be provided.

Registration is required. Please register here.

Moderators:

Carolyn Arcand

Dr. Arcand is a senior lecturer at the Carsey School of Public Policy, where she has taught since the school's very first semester. In 2011, she received her second master's in public policy and in 2014 she earned her doctorate. That year was also her first at UNH, where she started as a lecturer in the Political Science and Public Administration department. Professor Innis is co-author of the book Strategic Planning for Logistics.

The January 9 event at the UNH Paul College of Business and Economics is one of three conversations on the topic of federal fiscal challenges to be held during the month of January, including on January 10 at Dartmouth College and on January 19 at the Warren B.
