The GIFT-IFSC Series Edition II

With the rapidly evolving GIFT City framework, Dentons Link Legal is pleased to introduce the second edition of our "The GIFT-IFSC Series". Furthermore, with the increased global interest and transactional traction out of GIFT, it is imminent to understand the sectoral transactional scope and interplay vis-à-vis the evolving GIFT City regime. With this background, our second edition to The GIFT-IFSC Series is focused on the Shipping and Real Estate sector(s) as below:

Part I of this Edition II, titled "Ship Leasing and Financing in GIFT City" - sets out the broad regulatory framework for ship leasing and financing activities within GIFT City. This edition correlates regulatory provisions with practical considerations, including notable incentives and potential concerns.

Part II of this Edition II, titled "Tokenising Tomorrow - Real Estate Opportunities in GIFT City" - sets out the prospects of tokenization of real estate ownership in India through GIFT. This part, inter-alia, provides a holistic overview of existing real estate ownership structures in India vis-à-vis the benefits, hurdles, regulatory considerations, and future prospects of tokenizing real estate ownership through GIFT.
