Shoemakersville Borough Receives Funding to Replace Aging Water Infrastructure

HARRISBURG - A project that will improve aging and outdated water infrastructure in Shoemakersville Borough received millions in funding this week, according to Senator David G. Argall (R-Berks/Schuylkill) and Rep. Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/Schuylkill).

I'm grateful Shoemakersville Borough was chosen to receive this highly competitive state funding," said Argall. "This project will improve the quality of life for residents of the borough."

"It is important that we continue to fund projects like the one in the Borough of Shoemakersville," said Knowles. "The $2.5 million awarded from PENNVEST will allow the borough to replace and enhance its wastewater systems. This program continues to invest in clean water projects to benefit our communities."

The borough received a $2,5000,000 loan to install new screening equipment at their wastewater treatment plant. These improvements will help keep the treatment plant up to date and will greatly benefit sewer services for residents.
