April is National County Government Month

Cass County will celebrate National County Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to showcase how the county provides services and programs to residents to achieve a vibrant and safe community. Follow the Cass County Government Facebook and Twitter pages this month for information and updates on each of the county's departments and how they help provide services to our residents.

The theme for this year's celebration of NCGM is "ForwardTogether". The theme highlights the powerful role of county governments as intergovernmental partners that:

• Connect, building bridges to advance excellence and networks in county government
• Inspire, driving community engagement and residents' trust in county government, and
• Lead, spearheading local, state, federal and tribal intergovernmental partnerships and common-sense policy solutions.

Resources are also available for anyone interested in learning more about how local government works - the iCivics "Counties Work" online game is a great way to understand the different roles within county government and how each of those roles work together to provide services to residents.
