Secretary General, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi met with the Secretary General of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ambassador François Delattre​​

Today, the Secretary General of the Farnesina, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, met at the Ministry with the Secretary General of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ambassador François Delattre, for talks on key bilateral, European, and international issues.
Ambassador Sequi and Ambassador Delattre expressed satisfaction for the successful reinforcement of Italy-France relations through the Quirinal Treaty. Ambassador Sequi commented that the reinforced dialogue fostered by the Treaty enables the two Countries to work jointly on concrete issues in sectors of common interest on the European and international agenda.

At bilateral level, Ambassadors Sequi and Delattre examined the cross-border cooperation opportunities and the maritime boundaries. Ambassador Sequi expressed the hope that Paris will support Rome's candidacy to host Expo 2030.

During the talks, the two parties addressed the latest developments in the war in Ukraine and the serious consequences its is having on food and energy security, also recalling the joint visit to Kiev by Prime Minister Draghi and President Macron with their German and Rumanian counterparts. Sequi and Delattre discussed and agreed on the so-called "European Political Community" project, an instrument that is complementary to the European Union's enlargement policy for the neighboring countries. Lastly, the two Ambassadors addressed concrete issues in sectors of common interest on the European and international agenda: the Mediterranean, the Middle East, the Sahel, and China. In this regard, the two Ambassadors reaffirmed the fruitful strategic collaboration between Italy and France and confirmed their mutual commitment to maintain a close coordination within the NATO and QUINT.
