Amador County Public Health (ACPH) reports 81 more individuals with COVID-19 since last Tuesday (76% unvaccinated). Cases include 23 children under 18 years, 36 age 18-49, 12 age 50-64, and 10 age 65 and above. Confirmed cases in 2021 total 2,191. There are currently 72 active cases in isolation. Investigation confirmed one additional death due to COVID-19, a male in his 70s.

The OptumServe testing site at HHS continues to operate on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 7 AM to 7 PM. Please register for this no-cost testing at the lhi.care website or by calling 1-888-634-1123. OptumServe will accommodate walk-ins on a limited basis. Masks are required at the testing site. Anyone who is exhibiting symptoms, even fully vaccinated individuals, should isolate and get tested.

Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are offered at ACPH pop-up clinics. These outreach clinics are not for booster vaccinations. No appointment is necessary.

Pfizer booster vaccination is recommended for certain individuals six months or later after their second dose of Pfizer. Vaccine clinics will be held at the Health and Human Services Building (HHS), 10877 Conductor Blvd, Sutter Creek on Thursday (Oct. 21), Friday (Oct. 22) and Sunday (Oct. 24) from 9 AM to 6 PM. Visit myturn.ca.gov to schedule an appointment. Please bring your vaccination card, a photo of your card, or digital record that shows the dates of your previous Pfizer doses. Walk-ins will be accepted before 5:30 pm. More information should be available within the next week on Moderna and Johnson and Johnson booster approval as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) move forward with final recommendations.

On Saturday, October 23, a FREE drive-through flu clinic is scheduled at the Church of the Nazarene from 10 am to 1 pm for adults and children age 3 years and older. Both FluMist and injectable will be available. No high-dose vaccine will be available at the drive-through clinic.
