BLM Eastern States seeks bids for new wild horse and burro off-range corral facilities

FALLS CHURCH, Va. - The Bureau of Land Management is seeking proposals for new off-range corral facilities. One or more corral facilities across the eastern United States can be proposed to temporarily care for wild horses and burros gathered from public lands in the West.

Facility proposals should be in states east of and bordering the Mississippi River, sited at least 100 miles inland from the coast and avoid areas prone to natural disasters. Sites within 60 miles of an airport and access near major highways are preferred.

At least one contract will be awarded for a facility that must accommodate 200-300 animals. Corral facilities are intended to be open to the public for adoptions and other placement events. The solicitation closes Oct. 21, 2021.

New bidders must obtain an identifier number online from the Dun & Bradstreet website at www.dnb.com before registering on the System for Award Management website at www.sam.gov to do business with the federal government. No fee is involved.
