Longtime Andover Judge Retires

On January 24, 2022, Doyle Eugene "Gene" White, Jr. will sit at the bench of the Andover Municipal Court for the last time. Serving as Andover's Judge for more than three

decades, he has more than fulfilled his duty as a public servant.

"We are grateful for the amount of time that Judge White has dedicated to the City of Andover," commented Mayor Ronnie Price. "It isn't often you find someone who is willing to stick it out that

many years. Andover has been very fortunate."

A member of the Kansas Municipal Judges Association, Judge White received the Fred Benson Service Award in April of 2018. This is an award given to those serving 35 years or more.

White graduated with his Bachelors from the University of Kansas in 1965. He then continued on to receive his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 1967 and was admitted to the Kansas bar in 1968.

Judge Gene White says, "It's been rewarding to watch Andover grow and change: it's been shaped by many great leaders over all these years."

The City of Andover will appoint a new Judge through the Mayor's Annual appointment process at the January 25, 2022, City Council Meeting.
