Prime Minister Robert Golob has today convened a meeting with representatives of the trade unions, employers and the Government who participate in the Economic and Social Council (ESC). Prime Minister Robert Golob has today convened a meeting with representatives of the trade unions, employers and the Government who participate in the Economic and Social Council (ESC).
The purpose of the meeting is to revive the social dialogue and fully restore the functioning of the Economic and Social Council.
In a press statement after the meeting, the Minister of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Luka Mesec, said that the meeting had been constructive and indicated that social dialogue was being revived after a break of several months. In the coming days, the informal college of the ESC will draft a cooperation protocol that will upgrade the existing protocol from 2019 and define the topics to be discussed at the next ESC meeting. Among the topics to be discussed will be the starting points for pension and tax reform. Minister Mesec aims to hold the first ESC meeting in May after a break of several months.
