Co-organized by Fujian Archives, Sichuan Archives Institution, School of Public Administration of Sichuan University , and Guangdong Overseas Chinese Culture Research Institute, the meeting enjoys an audience of about 600 people from home and abroad including scholars, students, and archivists.

Focusing on "Telling China's Story through Archives and Social Media", the meeting triggers widespread attention and heated discussions nationwide. Various supporting activities and exhibitions were also held.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Professor Zhang Bin, director of the Beijing Academic Center of the Memory of the World Project, emphasized China's contribution to cultural heritage protection as this year coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Memory of the World Project. As China is the initiator, advocate, participant and contributor of the Memory of the World project, it has been continuously providing China's wisdom, strength and solutions to world cultural heritage protection and Chinese civilization inheritance.

Dean Liu Yuenan of the School of Information Resource Management interpreted the theme of this year's International Archives Week and the significance of this conference. She pointed out that the hashtag "ArchivesAreYou" of this year's International Archives Week has dual meanings: one is that the Internet and social media have become the main channels for promoting exchanges around the world; the other is to realize that archival social media is enriching, developing and building social memory because it spreads archival culture and inherits cultural heritage.

Zhou Shusheng, deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Archives, made a keynote report on "Creating New Scenes to Tell Good Stories". Associate Professor Liang Jihong from the School of Information Resource Management, introduced the theory and methods of digital protection of historical and cultural villages and towns, as well as some applied research cases.

Experts and professors from the School of Public Administration of Sichuan University, the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Culture Research Institute, and the School of Information Resource Management of RUC then made wonderful presentations from diverse perspectives such as communication, protection and inheritance of world cultural heritage, and development and utilization of archive resources.
