RUC and EI Colegio de México Held Online Meeting

Renmin University of China (RUC) and EI Colegio de México held an online meeting on the evening of May 20^th. Prof. Du Peng, Vice President of RUC, and Ana Covarrubias, Deputy Dean of EI Colegio de México, attended the meeting.

Prof. Du Peng introduced the Latin American Studies Center of Renmin University of China. He said that 2022 marks the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico and it is a good opportunity to deepen the educational partnership between the two universities.

Ana Covarrubias said that they have always encouraged students to learn about China. She mentioned that Dean of EI Colegio de México, Silvia Elena Giorguli Saucedo, also attached great importance to the cooperation with RUC.

With similar subject offerings, the two schools have worked closely together in many areas since 2018. Du and Giorguli expressed their good expectations for further cooperation. Du also added innovative cooperation models such as establishing collaborative research institutes and conducting scholar exchange programs.

Yang Guangbin, Dean of the School of International Relations, said that the experience of developing countries in Latin America, Mexico included, is of great significance for the development of comparative political research. He expects to deepen mutual understanding and build an academic network with EI Colegio de México by sending scholars to each other and conducting joint research.

Alejandra González Barajas, Director of Academic Exchange, and Shi Yanan, Director of International Exchange, also attended the meeting.
