Celebrate the Day of the Child at Northside Branch Library

Be part of the magic as we celebrate the Day of the Child, or El Día del Niño, with a family-friendly festival packed with engaging, fun activities, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Northside Branch Library.

Spend quality time with your family and help make your children feel special for the day.

• Join us anytime during the festival and stay as long as you wish.
• The event is designed for children of all ages and will include fun games, experiences and crafts as well as entertaining performances.

El Día del Niño has been celebrated on April 30 in Mexico for nearly 100 years.

• The idea for the day was born from the first World Conference for the Well-being of Children held in August 1925 in Geneva, Switzerland.
• At that time, several countries were inspired to select days to celebrate children.

Many celebrations in Mexico fill the streets with parades, magicians, musicians, storytellers and entertainers at children's favorite hangout spots such as malls, movie theaters and amusement parks.
