McLane High Region Hosts Fun Literacy and Resource Fair for Families

What: Reading activities and resources for families in the McLane High School region

When: Monday, April 22, 2024
5-7:30 p.m.

Where: McLane High School
2727 N. Cedar Ave. (93703)

The McLane High School region will host a fun family literacy night with reading activities and free books, resources and food (first come, first served). The event will also feature:

  • More than 800 students receiving reading awards for achievement on i-Ready stretch growth
  • McLane teachers with tables on the quad to answer questions about classes and activities
  • Student performances
  • Fresno Unified and community vendors

The event is part of a series of family engagement events being held in the high school regions to support the district's board-adopted Family Goal to "Increase inclusive opportunities for families to engage in their students' education." Sponsors are Parent University and Fresno Unified trustee Veva Islas.


"We look forward to welcoming families to McLane High School for a fun evening emphasizing the importance of reading and recognizing student achievement, along with free books and food," said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
