Reappointments to the Tallaght Hospital Board- 12 March 2024

Professor Anne Marie Brady

On her nomination by Trinity College Dublin, The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly T.D., has reappointed the following as a member of the Tallaght Hospital Board with effect from 12th March 2024 until 11th March 2027.

Professor Anne-Marie Brady is Chair of Nursing & Chronic Illness and Director of the Trinity Centre for Practice and Healthcare Innovation in the School of Nursing & Midwifery at Trinity College Dublin. She previously served as Head of School (2017-20); Director of the Trinity Centre for Practice and Healthcare Innovation (2014-17) and as Director of Teaching & Learning (Postgraduate) (2010- 2014). She is a Registered General Nurse with 35 years of clinical practice, education and research experience in nursing and health care management. She has gained significant understanding of health service delivery issues in both the Irish and International context. Her research work has focused upon the development of health systems and workforce development in healthcare. She has conducted research studies in collaboration with health service providers to examine issues around patient related outcomes measures, workload measurement, practice development, patient safety and competency among health care workers. Her research interests are concerned with the provision of person centred, supportive care and strategies to meet healthcare demands around chronic illness/cancer survivorship. She is editor and co-author of a book Leadership & Management in the Irish Health Service. She is a member of Board Tallaght Hospital since 2018 and serves on the National Clinical Effectiveness Committee.

Professor Anne Marie Brady was elected as Chairperson by the Hospital Board on 27th November 2023.

Mark Varian

On his nomination by the Adelaide Hospital Society, The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly T.D., has reappointed the following as a member of the Tallaght Hospital Board with effect from 30th March 2024 until 29th March 2027.

Mark is a consultant in the Dublin office of international law firm, Eversheds Sutherland. Mark is the Head of its Projects & Construction Group in Ireland and was a partner between 2002 and 2023. The Projects & Construction Group advises on all aspects of infrastructure development, operation, and management often for public bodies. In this sector, Mark specialises in energy and construction law. Mark's clients include Dublin Port, FuturEnergy Ireland (the ESB/Coillte JV), AIB, Hibernia Real Estate, CyrusOne, the National Development Finance Agency, China General Nuclear, Astra Zeneca, Vantage Data Centers, Enercon GmbH and EirGrid plc. He has extensive knowledge in tendering procedures, the appointment of consultants, services contracts, and building & engineering contracts. Mark has been recommended by Chambers Global in the area of construction since 2004.
