Feral hog management the topic of May 2 webinar

Integrated pest management approaches to feral hog control will be the focus of a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service webinar from noon to 1 p.m. on May 2.

The webinar is part of the ongoing Texas A&M Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries ManagementStewardship Series.

Cost is $35, and advance registration is required at https://tx.ag/FeralHogManagement.

The webinar offers one integrated pest management continuing education unit for pesticide applicators in Texas.

After payment is received, a follow-up email will be sent from the event organizer with instructions on how to access the webinar.

Integrated Pest Management to combat feral hog damage

John Tomeček, Ph.D., associate professor in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, Bryan-College Station, will be the featured speaker.

Tomeček said aspects of feral hog biology and ecology factor into choosing the best management tools to control the species.

Integrated pest management takes these elements into consideration and focuses on the long-term prevention of pests and associated damage through a combination of methods.
