WORSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA TO MALAYSIA

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Republic of Argentina Diana Mondino will undertake an Official Visit to Malaysia on 18 and 19 March 2024. This will be her first visit to Malaysia as Minister of Foreign Affairs since assuming the position on 10 December 2023.

While in Malaysia, Minister Mondino is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Perdana Putra. Minister Mondino will also have a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan. Apart from discussing Malaysia-Argentina ties, both Foreign Ministers are expected to deliberate and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including Malaysia-Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) relations and the Palestine-Israel Conflict.

Minister Mondino is scheduled to meet with Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu to discuss cooperation in the agriculture and Halal sectors.

She is also scheduled to meet with Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Liew Chin Tong, as well as take part in a roundtable discussion with major Malaysian investors operating in Argentina, including PETRONAS and IJM.

In 2023, the Republic of Argentina was Malaysia's third largest trading partner in the Latin American region. Total trade between Malaysia and the Republic of Argentina in 2023 was valued at RM8.23 billion (USD1.81 billion).
