City of Denton Showcases Commitment to Craft Beer Tourism Through Participation in Brew City, Texas

Denton, TX - April 17, 2024 - In celebration of Denton's reputation as a "North of Ordinary" hub for local and visiting craft beer enthusiasts, the City of Denton is proud to announce its participation in the Brew City, Texas program. Launched in March by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild (TCBG), the City's participation affirms its dedication to promoting craft beer tourism and fostering economic growth for local hospitality and manufacturing businesses.

"Denton is a known destination for our welcoming atmospheres and exceptional craft beverages so we are thrilled to participate in the Brew City program, which will highlight the City's vibrant culture," says Assistant City Manager Christine Taylor. "This opportunity not only celebrates the unique flavors and experiences that makes us north of ordinary but also boosts community pride."

With more than 400 breweries statewide, craft beer contributes a staggering $4.5 billion annually to the Texas economy-the third most of any state-and supports more than 30,000 jobs. Still, when it comes to breweries per capita, Texas ranks a distant 47th, underscoring the potential for further industry growth and expansion.

"The Brew City, Texas program represents a significant milestone in the Texas Craft Brewers Guild's efforts to support and elevate the craft brewing industry in Texas," said Caroline Wallace, TCBG Executive Director. "By collaborating with cities like Denton who are committed to celebrating the unique culture and flavors of Texas craft beer, we aim to drive tourism, stimulate local economies, and further establish Texas as a world-class beer destination."

The City of Denton joins other communities across the state united in their mission to showcase the best of Texas craft beer and enhance economic opportunities for local businesses. Through collaborative marketing, education, and outreach efforts, Denton looks forward to continuing to raise the bar for craft beer excellence and welcoming visitors to experience the best of what the city has to offer.
