TIPC Secures Right to Host 110th Association of Pacific Ports (APP) Annual Conference at Port of Kaohsiung in 2024

TIPC Executive VP for Business Shu-hui Cheng led a delegation to the Association of Pacific Ports (APP) 109th Annual Conference held between August 13th and 16th at Port of Long Beach. The conference, organized by the Port of Long Beach, featured detailed talks on the operations and future challenges faced by that port as well as shared key success stories. At the invitation of conference organizers, TIPC gave a presentation on its plans for offshore wind power development and sustainability. Furthermore, TIPC was confirmed as host of the next APP Annual Conference in 2024.

In an official statement, TIPC noted Port of Long Beach's sharing of experiences and the guided tour itinerary had provided valuable insights into sustainable port operations. TIPC also expressed appreciation for the opportunity at the conference to share its plans for offshore wind power business growth and spotlight some of its landmark green port development accomplishments. TIPC will host the APP 110th Annual Conference next year at Port of Kaohsiung, with plans for detailed presentations and discussions on the significant improvements made to TIPC port infrastructures and facilities in recent years.

The Association of Pacific Ports, founded in 1913, is an important platform for exchange and cooperation between Taiwan's international commercial ports and other peer ports across the Pacific region. Prior to the formation of TIPC in 2012, Taiwan's four Port Bureaus had already been regular members of APP for more than two decades. APP members also include ports in the United States, Canada, and Oceania. The APP Annual Conference is hosted by a different member each year, with participants sharing information on the latest technologies, management skills, and industry developments in related presentations and workshops, offering regular opportunities for port cooperation and growth across the region.
