The launching of the G20 side events is a strategic step to highlight a positive image
and promote Indonesia's diverse culture and tourism. In other words, the organizing
of G20 side events in various regions is expected to simultaneously introduce
Indonesia more broadly.

Taking place at the Indonesia Kempinski Hotel, Wednesday (20/4/2022), the
launching of the G20 Indonesia 2022 side events was officially marked by the
beating of 'tifa' by the Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno together with the Vice Minister of
Tourism and Creative Economy (Wamenparekraf), Angela Tanoesoedibjo;

road to G20 programs as an amplification and glorification of the Indonesia's G20
Presidency. The series of side events and road to G20 programs from the MOTCE
at the Indonesia's G20 Presidency 2022 are an effort to increase the number of
delegates/participants to attend and participate in main events and side events,"
according to Menparekraf Sandiaga in his remarks.

The Indonesia's G20 side events 2022 are expected to be a moment to 'Recover
Together' in improving the economy of local communities in the regions, as the G20
theme is Recover Together, Recover Stronger.

"I hope that the side events of the G20 Indonesia 2022 can have a broad impact on
the community because in their implementation, they will involve tourism and
creative economy actors. Thus, the side events of G20 presidency are a momentum
to revive the economy, create business and employment opportunities," he added.

Sandiaga explained that the MOTCE as the host of the G20 Tourism Working Group
in 2022 seeks to revive the tourism and creative economy sector.

With the theme "Strengthening Community Tourism Transformation Agents and
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) - People-Centered Recovery", there
are five topics to discuss, namely Human Resources; Employment, Skills,
Entrepreneurship, and Education; Innovation, Digitization, and Creative Economy;
Women and Youth Empowerment; Climate Action, Biodiversity Conservation and
Circular Economy; as well as Policy, Governance, and Investment Framework.

"I hope that all stakeholder can work hand in hand to make the side events and road
to Indonesia's G20 Presidency 2022 a success. I look forward to collaborate and
welcome you to all side events. I believe that through multilateral cooperation, we
can all recover together, recover stronger, and recover better," he continued.

On the same occasion, the Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy
(Wamenparekraf), Angela Tanoesoedibjo, as well as Vice Coordinator of the and
Partnership Assistance Team at the Indonesia's G20 Presidency 2022, explained,
there were two categories of side events launched, namely substantive side event
and non-substantive side events.

Substantive side events are programs that are in line with and related to the Tourism Working Group issues of the Indonesia's G20 Presidency. Meanwhile, Non-Substantive aims to promote Indonesian tourism destinations.

There are three substantive side events, the first is the Asian Venture Philanthropy
Network (AVPN) Conference 2022 themed "Catalyzing Action Towards The Asian
Decade". This is a gathering of Asian investors and resource providers throughout
the world to share knowledge, build strategic partnerships, and resolve large scale
socio-economic challenges.

The "AVPN Conference 2022" will be held for four days on June 21-24, 2022, at the
Bali International Convention Center (BICC).

"This year, the AVPN Conference will engage in a strategic and dynamic dialog on
how to change the economy in Asia with the theme 'Catalyzing Action Towards The
Asian Decade'," according to Angela.

The second side event is the "International Wellness Tourism Conference & Festival
(IWTCF)" with the theme "A Sustainability Strategy for The World Tourism Recovery
And Growth Through Wellness Tourism For All". The event, which takes place on
August 5-7, 2022, in Solo/Surakarta, Central Java, will showcase and promote
Indonesia's wellness tourism destinations and products.

"We will declare the development of Wellness tourism in Indonesia, showcase and
promote Indonesia's Tourism Wellness destinations and products, and build
networks and collaborations," she explained.

The "World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE)" taking the theme
"Inclusively Creative: A Global Recovery" will be the third side event. This is a
collaboration forum between countries to increase awareness of the importance of
the creative economy industry strategy.

Taking place at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) on October 5-7,
2022, this conference will be held in the form of a hybrid meeting with an expo format
and inspirational session, Friends of Creative Economy Meeting, ministerial level
meeting, and a gala dinner.

Meanwhile, for non-substantive side events, the MOTCE offers tour packages
(excursion & pre/post tour) for the delegates of the Indonesia's G20 Presidency.
Furthermore, Angela adds, the MOTCE will introduce several other events such as
the Indonesian Creative Appreciation (AKI), Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN), and
others, which are also part of the effort to support the 2022 Indonesian G20.

"We believe that the tourism and creative economy must become a global agenda.
Therefore, the MOTCE organizes a number of roads to G20 programs as an
amplification of the Indonesia's G20 Presidency, such as AKI, KEN, and others, in
order to promote and bring tangible economic benefits for tourism and creativity,"
she continued.

Angela is optimistic that the G20 Presidency can revive Indonesia's tourism and
creative economy sector. Therefore, she expects that stakeholders can help make
the G20 side events and road to G20 programs successful.
