The EU member states’ Ambassadors visited “Getica” Joint National Training Center from Cincu

On Tuesday, May 16, State for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, accompanied the ambassadors and heads of mission of the EU member states accredited to Bucharest, on an information visit to the "Getica" Joint National Training Center from Cincu.

The activity was co-organized together with the Embassy of France, the state that leads the NATO Battle Group in Romania, and with the Embassy of Sweden, the state that holds the rotating presidency of the EU Council.

"I strongly believe that this approach will contribute to a better understanding of national and Allied efforts made to strengthen security on the Eastern flank," State Secretary Cojocaru declared.

State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations highlighted the importance of strengthening the trans-Atlantic link and expanding the EU-NATO partnership, in accordance with the provisions of the third Joint Statement on EU-NATO Cooperation. The official indicated that the EU and NATO have complementary roles, an aspect demonstrated by the decisions made in the context of the Russian Federation's aggression war against Ukraine.

"It is important to consolidate the European and Euro-Atlantic unity, in order to become more resilient to any threat and challenge we may face in the future," the State Secretary stated.

On the occasion of this visit, the State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations handed an honorary plaque to the senior national representative of France in Romania, Brigadier General Christophe Follet, at the end of his mandate, by thanking him for his role in the NATO Battle Group's activity in Romania.
