Italy-Tanzania Business and Investment Forum in Zanzibar

Roughly 800 enterprises, of which about 100 Italian or local, although wholly Italian-owned, participated in the Italy-Tanzania Business and Investment Forum held in Zanzibar and in Dar es Salaam. The event, organised by the Italian Embassy in Dar es Salaam, ICE - the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian and Tanzanian Foreign Ministries, the Tanzania Investment Center, and the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority, represented a useful moment in which to explore economic partnerships and opportunities in the agribusiness, machines, and infrastructure sectors as well as in technology and knowledge exchange and in the blue economy.

On the Forum's closing day, the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Marco Lombardi, announced that in 2023 Tanzania will be included in the "Luca Attanasio Initiative" organised and coordinated by the Farnesina in partnership with ICE - the Italian Trade Agency, which envisages sending a mission of Trade Associations to the sectors of Tanzania's market offering the greatest opportunities for Italian companies. In thanking Italy for having included her Country in the project, Tanzanian Foreign Minister, Liberata Mulamula, recalled the figure of Ambassador Attanasio. The Forum was attended, among others, by the First Vice President of Zanzibar, Othman Masoud Othman, and the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Ashatu K. Kijaji. The next edition of the Italy-Tanzania Business and Investment Forum will take place in Milan in 2023.
